CHAMBER GOVERNANCE
|
The Northeast Tarrant Chamber is governed annually by our Board of Directors who oversee the Chamber annual activities and help guide the Chamber President. Both the Chamber staff and Board of Directors are guided by the Chamber bylaws. |
The Northeast Tarrant Chamber has a rich and long history of serving the Northeast Tarrant Community and our member businesses. We are currently operating within our 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, having recently completed our 2014-2017 Strategic Plan (download the Chamber Strategic Plan here).
Our Chamber is an IRS-recognized 501c6 non-profit entity. As a 501c6 business non-profit, members can deduct annual dues as a business expense, however, donated products and services are typically non-deductible when donated to a 501c6 organization. Please check with your accounting professional for more information (download the Chamber IRS designation letter here).
For 61 years, our Chamber has been operating within the guidelines of our Chamber bylaws. These bylaws were most recently updated in 2015 (download a copy of the Northeast Tarrant Chamber bylaws here).
As set out in our Chamber bylaws, the Chamber membership votes annually on a Board of Directors to oversee the Chamber activities (from a high-level view). The board is comprises of leaders from member companies in good standing who are influential in the community and have the contacts and resources to help the Chamber achieve our mission and strategic goals. Board Members are nominated through a process directed in our bylaws (summary of nomination process here)
