NORTH RICHLAND HILLS
North Richland Hills (NRH) is a great place for your family, your business and your free time!
NRH is strategically located 15 minutes from and between DFW Airport, the Alliance Global Logistics hub, and downtown Fort Worth. For over 70,000 residents, NRH offers a seamless balance of suburban living with access to all the necessary urban resources, while also being consistently ranked as one of DFW’s safest cities.
North Richland Hills has always maintained a strong focus on providing an environment for business success alongside a wide variety of amenities to keep residents active, healthy, and entertained, including 720 acres of parkland, 30 miles of paved hike and bike trails and the award-winning NRH2O Family Water Park. With 26 miles of major arterial roadways and over 1,200 brick and mortar businesses, the City works diligently to ensure that they are consistently meeting the needs of their diverse business and resident population.
The City experienced its sixth straight year of economic growth and is set to continue this trend with a net increase of 30 businesses resulting in 700 more employees. Residential unemployment is at its lowest rate since February 2001, currently 3%, while Tarrant & DFW both sit at 3.5%. As NRH continues to enjoy expansion of the business base, the strong economy combined with a healthy pipeline of upcoming business creates a positive outlook for the future. Development permit activity remains at the same record pace as the previous two years representing $88.7 million in new commercial and residential development.
The City is set to welcome the restaurants Sushi Axiom, Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, Sweetie Pie Ribeye’s along with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, their first location in Tarrant County!
Because of this growth, NRH is in the midst of improving transportation options both locally and regionally. From a road perspective, the expansion of Rufe Snow Drive north of Mid Cities Boulevard is progressing while two critical intersections along Davis Boulevard are under construction with dedicated lanes and signal lighting. From a rail standpoint, NRH is now committed to providing residents and visitors an alternative transportation option through TEXRail, a commuter rail line that connects downtown Fort Worth to DFW Airport. The City is home to two stops along the route: Iron Horse, located just north of Loop 820 along Iron Horse Blvd, and Smithfield, located just north of Mid Cities Blvd between Davis Blvd and Smithfield Road. Both are conveniently located on major roadways with the adjacent areas designed to provide an assortment of commercial and residential uses.
The City of North Richland Hills continues to receive accolades for its commitment to high community standards. Most recently, NRH was recognized as one of the top 10 cities in the country to start a business by How to Start a Business LLC. The City’s waterpark NRH20 was rated “America’s Best Water Park” by Fox News and “Best Waterpark in the Country” by TripAdvisor. North Richland Hills is also the first city in Tarrant County, and one of only 13 cities in the state of Texas to receive Platinum Level Scenic City Certification by Scenic Texas. This award is the highest endorsement recognizing cities that strive to maintain the highest quality scenic standards in their public spaces and roadways. The City of NRH welcomes you to our community and find out why we are the city to Live, Work, Play & Do Business!
